The unsteady cavitating turbulent flows in hydraulic machinery, including hydro turbines, pumps, propellers, etc.

Basic study on the fish-friendly hydro machines

Artificial hearts development, biomechanics

New technology development for hydraulic machinery and systems

Evaluation system for hydropower utilization and management.

Honors And Awards

(1) January, 2009 — at present. The 6th, 7th and 8th Committee Member of Chinese Council for Sand Wear in Hydro Machines.

(2) January, 2011— at present. The 1st and 2nd Committee member of small hydropower, Chinese Hydropower Engineering Association.

(3) January, 2013. Second prize, Science and Technology Progress Award for Chinese Ministry of Education. Project title: Mechanism for complex cavitating flows and its engineering applications.

(4) May, 2013. First prize, Scientific and Technological Award of Zhejiang Province. Project title: Key technologies for processing pumps with high temperature and high cavitation performance, and industrial applications.

(5) February, 2015. Second prize, Science and Technology Progress Award for Chinese Ministry of Education. Project title: Turbulent cavitating flows and the applications for hydraulic machinery.

(6) January, 2017— at present. The 7th Committee Member of Chinese Hydropower Equipments, Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering.
