报告摘要:

The development of a utility size fuel-flexible gas turbine that burns coal derived hydrogen, natural gas, and syngases is a key component of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Turbine Program. Several combustion technologies are being developed by gas turbine manufacturers to meet the very challenging报告人简介:

Dr. Robert K. Cheng is a Senior Scientist with the Environmental Energy Technologies Division of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He is the leader of the Combustion Technologies Group and is the Principal Investigator of research programs supported by the U. S. Department of Energy and other Federal and State Agencies. He received a B. S. (1972), a M. S. (1974), and a Ph. D. (1977) all from the Mechanical Engineering Department of University of California at Berkeley. He joined LBNL in 1977 and built an experimental research group on fundamental combustion fluid mechanics with emphasis on lean premixed turbulent flames. He has published over seventy journal articles on the use of laser diagnostics to study flame turbulence interactions. His discoveries of flame stabilization methods for ultra-low NOx emission combustion systems have generated three patents. These low NOx emission technologies are in various stages of development and commercialization for industrial heating and power generation. He is an active member of The Combustion Institute, ASME and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
