Research Status
Prof. Jiang has been engaged in the research of heat and mass transfer under extreme conditions in the field of energy and power engineering. Based on the characteristics of the micro/nano structure, high temperature and high pressure, strong variation of physical properties, extremely high heat flux and hypersonic speed in the field of low-carbon energy and aerospace power system, the theory of heat and mass transfer under extreme conditions is enriched and developed, the enhanced heat transfer method of micro/nano structure and the prediction method of supercritical fluid heat and mass transfer are proposed, the key technologies of thermal protection for high-temperature surfaces are developed, and systematic innovative achievements are obtained. The research results are applied in the fields of renewable energy, aerospace, CO2 utilization and geological storage.

Academic Achievement
Prof. Jiang has more than 450 published journal papers, including more than 240 SCI-indexed papers with more than 11000 citations by Google Scholar. He received the Second Prize of National Natural Science Award and the Second Prize of National Technological Invention Award and the Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress by the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation. He has more than 70 patents authorized in China and 5 in the USA. He has made more than 20 plenary or keynote presentations at international academic conferences. Prof. Jiang published a monograph Theory and Technology of Active Cooling and Thermal Protection of High Temperature Aerospace Vehicles (Science Press, 2021), and participated in the compilation of Handbook of Thermophysics (China Machine Press, 2002), Heat Exchanger (Second Edition) (chapter 6 of section 8 (Micro Heat Exchanger), China Petrochemical Press, January 2013, pp. 1680 ~ 1741), Encyclopedia of China Electric Power (Third Edition), Volume of Thermal Power (Third Edition) and Basic Branch of Thermophysics (China Electric Power Press, 2014). He has trained 37 doctoral and 34 postgraduate students, and 23 postdoctoral or visiting scholars.
